Peak pop video?
Probably not (some of the most expensive promos were made during the late '90s, the Hype Williams era - e.g. Busta and Janet's astounding" What's It Gonna Be") but this is getting up there - and has an added aura of decadence given that almost nobody saw it, I should imagine.
I never saw it at the time, despite being an avid watcher of MTV and VH1, and also someone who interviewed Donald Fagen around this album, Kamakiriad.
Michel Gondry must have recently done this little wonder
